Job Description

**Our Vision**
603 Forward and [The Forward Foundation](https://forwardnh.org/) envision a thriving New Hampshire where all people are free to live, work and raise a family. In our New Hampshire democracy is protected; young people have a voice in government at all levels; and policy changes help to build an inclusive, affordable, and thriving state.

**Our Mission**
In tackling the generational crisis facing New Hampshire, 603 Forward educates, engages, and activates working-age adults to drive pro-next-generation policy change and support like-minded leaders in their pursuit of public office. Whether it’s testifying at hearings, engaging with local elected officials, knocking doors for a young leader or recruiting the next generation to public office, 603 Forward is building a future for our generation to thrive.
At The Forward Foundation, we are dedicated to the betterment of New Hampshire and its people. As a small, independent, and nonpartisan organization deeply rooted in this great state, our mission is clear: increase the participation of working-age people in democracy, enabling the next generation to thrive.

**Overview of Role**
In recent years, New Hampshire’s legislature has passed policies that make it harder for working-age people (roughly ages 18-50) to vote, to afford housing, to provide our kids a quality education, and more. Organizers work as part of 603 Forward’s Advocacy + Engagement Team to execute the organization’s plans for advancing our legislative priorities by organizing and training advocates at the grassroots.

**Responsibilities**
- Identify and develop the leadership of new and existing grassroots advocates in targeted communities. Tactics are likely to include calls, 1:1s, texts and attending in person or virtual meetings & events
- Provide direct support to grassroots advocates in targeted communities, including but not limited to: developing 1:1 coaching sessions, designing outreach/educational templates for effective communications, power mapping, and utilizing digital organizing tools
- Coordinate local leaders and support them in their advocacy to support 603 Forward’s priority issues
- Manage and lead Manchester Neighbors Welcome to achieve shared goals of stakeholders and coalition members
- Plan and execute educational events, actions, community meetups, and other base-building activities in accordance with the larger 603 Forward advocacy plan
- Plan, build for and run trainings and other learning opportunities for the public, and advocates remotely and in-person
- Engage young people in productive communications with policymakers at events, meetings, and public hearings
- Other duties as assigned: Organizer may be asked to assist with additional 603 Forward projects and programs on an as-needed basis

**Required Qualifications**
- Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the organization
- Minimum one year experience in electoral organizing or advocacy campaigns
- Experience and comfort with relationship-building in an online and offline setting
- Experience with tools including Google suite, Excel spreadsheets, social media platforms, online conference call tools, etc.
- Demonstrated self-awareness, reliability, and focus in a remote work environment
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of people
- Eagerness to collaborate and build positive community culture
- Ability to shift work hours to include occasional evening events and infrequent weekend hours.

**Helpful Qualifications**
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle as needed
- Access to own computer equipment, cell phone, and remote office equipment
- Familiarity with NGPVAN, EveryAction, and other organizing related tools.
- Familiarity with New Hampshire preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred)
