JOB DESCRIPTION
Virginia House Democratic Caucus (VHDC) is seeking an experienced Digital Director to lead a diverse and robust Digital Program. The Digital Director will work at both the caucus level leading email fundraising, social media copywriting and execution, graphic content development, online advertising, etc and at the campaign level helping direct campaign staff on their digital programming. This position will report directly to the Executive Director and will also work with the Finance and Communications teams to accomplish the VHDC strategic goals.
The start date for this role is ASAP. This is an ** in-person** position, based in Richmond, VA, and termed through** December 31st, 2025**.

Job Responsibilities

Manage and develop an integrated digital campaign plan for the VHDC, including email, social media, and web properties.

Manage the VHDC’s social media accounts while staying current on new social media opportunities and updates to various online platforms

Write, edit, and design content for the VHDC’s email list. Segment lists, test approaches, and use best practices to raise money, mobilize volunteers, and help elect candidates up and down the ticket.

Work closely with all targeted campaigns to ensure implementation of strong digital fundraising and persuasion programs

Work seamlessly with all other departments, Democratic candidates, and local parties to promote VHDC efforts through digital design

Track and analyze digital data.

Minimum Qualifications

2-3 years of relevant experience working for an electoral campaign, advocacy organization, or firm, with at least one year running digital campaigns

Excellent persuasive writing skills with a strong attention to detail.

Experience with email and digital fundraising, organizing, and communications

Experience with targeted email, CRM, or online advocacy tools such as NGP.

Experience with content management systems such as WordPress, Squarespace, or Drupal.

Experience with Photoshop, InDesign or other desktop publishing software preferred.

Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Strong time management, verbal, interpersonal skills and ability to work well and remain calm under pressure.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize projects while working on a deadline

Compensation
- This is a full-time exempt position based in person in Richmond, and the ability to work remotely will not be available. Salary is $6,500-$8,000 a month commensurate with experience.
