JOB DESCRIPTION

Power Building Table Coordinator

The Washington Power-Building Table (PBT) is an alliance of 7 organizations working for social change: Firelands Workers United/Trabajadores Unidos, Latino Community Fund, OneAmerica, Washington Bus, Washington Community Action Network, Washington Community Alliance, and Working Washington. We have come together to develop a statewide strategy to build progressive power and have developed a Long Term Agenda.

The PBT is seeking an experienced part-time coordinator to support the table’s activities. The PBT meets on a monthly basis as a full table, includes several subcommittees, and has quarterly in-person meetings. The Grassroots Power Project (GPP) provides ongoing facilitation and strategy development support for the table.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

● Participate in and provide logistical and facilitation support to monthly full-PBT and committee (political, base-building, narrative, and planning committee) meetings, including scheduling, sending meeting reminders, taking notes, helping run tech, sending out action items after the meeting, facilitating parts of the meetings, etc.

● Manage logistics for PBT in-person meetings and events, including finding a venue, ordering food, arranging interpretation, sending out meeting reminders, etc.

● Produce internal and external PBT collateral that express the table’s positions ● Work with PBT fiscal sponsor to ensure responsible and timely dispersal of funds and tracking budget expenses

● Communicate with and meet with individual PBT members on a regular basis to track table work and progress, provide updates on various committee meetings, and help ensure everyone has the information they need

● Meet with Supervisor and Grassroots Power Project on a weekly basis to track table coordination and next steps

IDEAL CANDIDATE

● Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders and to translate complex information and political strategy to multiple audiences using both written and verbal communications

● Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities with good follow-through

● Is able to follow various threads of work and communications across multiple different committees, and connect the dots

● Has a “facilitative leadership” style, primarily oriented to supporting the leadership of table members and building member alignment

● Skills in meeting facilitation and group process management with experience managing programs

● Is extremely relationship-oriented and centers trust building

POSITION LOGISTICS

● Coordinator will be required to be on site to handle logistics for meetings in Seattle, with the potential for limited travel elsewhere in the state

● This is contract position, to be housed and supervised at Washington Community Action Network

● Time commitment: 20 hours/week, through December 2025

● Compensation: 20 hours/week at $40 per hour
