Position Summary

About Research Collaborative

Following our success in helping steer the progressive movement through the 2020 election crisis, Research Collaborative (RC) has become a trusted research, strategy, and messaging hub for national and state organizations across the pro-democracy movement. We generate and disseminate research, narrative guidance, and strategic approaches to protect our freedoms and address the pressing crises of the day, fostering alignment across the pro-democracy space. We maintain a deliberately low profile, which allows us to promote collaboration among and buy-in from partners. Learn more about Research Collaborative here. If you have any questions, please reach out to info@researchcollaborative.org.

About the Position

Research Collaborative is hiring a Data & Analytics Intern who will report to the Engagement Associate. The person who fills this role will be flexible and highly organized, taking on essential database management tasks for carrying out RC’s programming. This role is for someone who is passionate about using their technical skills to support the pro-democracy movement.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Proficiency in organizing data and setting up workflows in Google Sheets.
  • Familiarity with CRMs like HubSpot and online platforms like Zoom and Slack.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and technologies, self-teaching when necessary.
  • Passion for Research Collaborative’s mission to fight fascism.
  • Genuine interest in pursuing a career in progressive politics.
  • Consideration for the voices of communities that have been most directly impacted by racism and white supremacy in American politics.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, take direction, and collaborate effectively.
  • Time management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Research has shown that women and members of historically marginalized groups often only apply to jobs when they feel they meet 100% of the qualifications. We are committed to creating an equitable, inclusive, and diverse company and we strongly desire applicants with a wide range of experiences and backgrounds: even if you don’t see yourself fully reflected in every qualification listed, we still encourage you to reach out and apply.

Example of Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Manage and create reports of engagement metrics.
  • Conduct data entry and audits, create lists, and assist in managing subscription lists such as merging duplicates and clearing out old contacts.
  • Create workflows in Google Sheets and HubSpot to automate existing processes.
  • Troubleshoot tech issues on RC’s research portal platform as needed.

Duration & Schedule

The internship will begin during the summer of 2024 and last until December 2024. The intern will work approximately 15 – 20 hours/week and will establish a Monday – Friday schedule with the Engagement Associate.
