THE OPPORTUNITY
As an Engineering Manager for the ActBlue Developer Experience team, you will provide vital support for our work and facilitate the development and execution of our roadmap. The Developer Experience team's mission is to: Make developing and shipping software easy, productive, and observable. This team is part of our Platform Engineering organization and collaborates closely with all engineering teams to develop and implement long-term strategy for our overall software ecosystem from local development to production.
As an organization that processes millions of dollars in contributions a day for thousands of campaigns and organizations, it is crucial that our engineering teams have confidence that they can deploy to production safely and have minimal friction when building new features. This role is a key part of that journey as the team responsible for the engineering experience at ActBlue.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Providing software development expertise and guidance for up to 7 software engineers of diverse backgrounds and skills
- Supporting the professional development of your direct reports (supportive feedback, goal-setting, regular check-ins, etc)
- Working with engineers, Product Managers, and UX leads to formulate roadmaps
- Driving essential and timely communication between teams
- Ensuring the teams have the context and resources they need to achieve their goals
- Collaborating with the rest of engineering leadership to continually cultivate a work environment where everyone on the team can thrive

WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH
We use best in class tools (rails, node, postgresql, react, sidekiq/redis, terraform) and methods (github, extensive automated testing, continuous integration, deployment, cloud hosting) to deliver the best technology in politics.

This posting is for a full-time, remote, salaried position. Travel may be required on a limited basis to attend all-staff and departmental retreats (1-2 times per year). Additional travel may be required for select positions.

Work Schedule:
This role requires availability during established, regular business hours (Mon-Fri).
Work Environment:
Employees can expect to work with distributed teams across all U.S. time zones. Our roles require extended technology usage, and proficiency with virtual communication tools such as Zoom and Slack. Regular attendance in virtual meetings is inherent to every position.
Salary Range Details:
Salary Range: $173,676 - $192,209 - $210,741
ActBlue is committed to consistent compensation practices across our organization. Final salary offers will take into account factors such as candidate experience, interview performance and current team salary parity.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is expected to supervise, coach, and mentor 3+ direct reports.
