We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Product Manager to lead the evolution of Action Network’s toolset through our cooperative development process. In this role, you’ll be the key connector between our partners, development team, and internal stakeholders — driving feature innovation, facilitating collaborative prioritization, and ensuring our tools meet the evolving needs of progressive organizations.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Action Network and directly impact how our progressive movement organizes and mobilizes.

This full-time position will report to the Director of Product. This is a remote position.

What you’d be doing:

Product Discovery and Feature Development:

  • Proactively identify opportunities for new features and enhancements based on partner feedback, market research, and strategic goals.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the toolset, partner use cases, and industry trends to inform feature ideation.
  • Manage and maintain the feature wishlist, transforming partner needs into detailed, well-structured feature specs.
  • Work closely with Directors of Engineering and Design to implement and deploy new features.
  • Own the custom development pipeline, ensuring projects align with broader product objectives and partner priorities.

Facilitate the Cooperative Development Process:

  • Lead monthly meetings with the Product Development Committee (PDC) to review progress, gather feedback, and discuss evolving needs.
  • Organize and facilitate the annual prioritization process to collaboratively build the product roadmap alongside the Director of Product and PDC partners.
  • Write comprehensive, clear, and actionable feature specifications to guide development and bring partner visions to life.
  • Support PDC members in refining their internal processes to gather user feedback and align organizational priorities.

Partner Support and Training:

  • Empower PDC partners to leverage the tools more strategically through tailored training, resources, and best practices.
  • Provide responsive, high-quality support to partners via email, Slack, and scheduled calls, ensuring they have the guidance needed to succeed.
  • Onboard new PDC staff and facilitate smooth organizational onboarding or migration processes for new partners.

Product Marketing and Adoption:

  • Collaborate with marketing and partnerships teams to promote new features through webinars, blog content, and targeted campaigns.
  • Partner with the sales team to deliver compelling product demos, answer technical questions, and support customer onboarding.
  • Act as a product evangelist, both internally and externally, to drive growth and adoption of the toolset in new and interesting ways.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Work closely with the Director of Technology, Director of Partnerships, and key PDC organizations, including the AFL-CIO and affiliates, CLC and affiliates, DLCC, and MoveOn.
  • Balance competing priorities and navigate complex stakeholder dynamics to drive consensus and forward momentum.

What you have

  • A passion for progressive causes and a minimum of 4 years building, monitoring or maintaining a progressive digital program.
  • Strong facilitation and relationship management skills, with the ability to guide collaborative processes and manage diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with competing toolsets and the ability to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses.

It would be great if you had

  • Experience in product management, ideally within SaaS, advocacy, or nonprofit tech spaces.
  • Proven success in client engagement, with the ability to build lasting, productive relationships.
  • Knowledge of APIs and SQL.
  • Deep knowledge of email deliverability best practices.
  • Basic coding or scripting knowledge (e.g., JavaScript, HTML/CSS).

The Perks

  • Working remotely with a great team of like-minded progressives
  • 90% of platinum paid medical plans
  • 100%, dental, and vision for you and your family
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Employer-matched 401(k)
