AFSCME Digital Intern Job Description
Leading progressive labor union seeks an intern with a passion for design, digital strategy, and economic justice to support the digital communications team.
AFSCME’s 1.4 million members provide the vital services that make America happen and advocate for prosperity and opportunity for all working families.
We are looking for a hard-working, self-motivated undergraduate or graduate student who can commit 20-29 hours a week September 1 through December 15, 2025 to assist with a range of activities, including creating captivating and trending social media posts, graphic design content, e-mail campaign production and support, social media monitoring; and other duties. The schedule is flexible and can be adjusted to accommodate academic schedule.
Applicants should have good writing, graphic design and communication skills and a passion for progressive causes. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop) or Canva is a must. Organizing and/or labor movement experience a plus but not required.
Salary: $17.00 per hour
Experience:
- Adobe Photoshop or Canva: 1 year (Preferred)
- Social Media Marketing: 1 year (Preferred)
- Graphic Design: 1 year (Preferred)
- Academics and/or extracurricular activities related to communications and political science
