Overview

Assemble is a leading digital-first media and public affairs firm that works with candidates, labor unions, companies, and non-profit organizations across the country to shape public opinion and mobilize communities, stakeholders, and supporters. We are seeking an Associate Strategist, Production to join and support our Digital Advocacy team.

Location

This is a full-time position based in either NY or DC with hybrid in-office requirements. Candidates should be prepared for occasional travel (2-3x per year) as needed.

Compensation

Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000

Core Areas of Focus

  • Advocacy: Inspiring advocates to take actions in support of causes, including sharing social content, signing petitions, and volunteering
  • Fundraising: Setting up the tools and technology necessary for people to take action in support of candidates and causes
  • Project Coordination: Tracking tasks, timelines, and reviews across internal teams to keep projects on schedule and provide administrative support to the team

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Senior Strategist, Production to develop a working knowledge of the platforms and tools we use to communicate with advocates and supporters
  • Set up and code emails and develop relevant corresponding pages to collect donations, sign ups, and signatures
  • Ensure accurate grammar, spelling, links, audiences, segmentations, and other “quality assurance” for advocate communications
  • Manage SMS production, including managing testing and segmentation for larger lists, while offering ideas for testing and optimization
  • Monitor and manage responses to peer-to-peer and broadcast communication programs
  • Maintain internal reporting systems and analyze data sets to track engagement metrics and identify growth opportunities
  • Provide support for website updates, digital mobilization initiatives, and online organizing activities
  • Assist with client reporting, communication, and administrative tasks
  • Assist the broader advocacy team on drafting content and campaign ideation

Qualifications

  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to focus on one task at a time from beginning to end
  • Confidence to ask questions and play an active role in your professional development
  • Keen interest in technology, systems, tools, project management, and learning around how to best operationalize and improve mass communication
  • Any experience (volunteer, internship or otherwise) in advocacy, social justice, political campaigns, or community organizing
  • Preferred but not required: Experience using tools such as ActionKit, NGP, Constant Contact, ActBlue or similar systems
  • Preferred but not required: Experience with google suite (gmail, docs, sheets, slides)
