Role
Assemble is a leading political and public affairs firm that partners with companies, coalitions, and associations across financial services, energy, sports and entertainment, technology, labor, and healthcare. Our Public Affairs and Stakeholder Advocacy team works at the intersection of policy, communications, and community engagement to advance client goals and build meaningful stakeholder relationships.
We are seeking a curious, detail-oriented intern to join our Public Affairs and Stakeholder Advocacy team. This role is ideal for a strong writer and quick thinker who is eager to learn the fundamentals of public affairs, stakeholder engagement, and political strategy in a fast-paced, client-driven environment. The intern will support day-to-day workflows, contribute to client deliverables, and gain exposure to the full arc of how public affairs strategy gets built and executed.
Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting client-facing materials including memos, talking points, and research summaries
- Support the planning and logistics of client events and stakeholder convenings
- Participate in cross-sector team meetings, taking notes and supporting follow-up
- Help track project workflows, deadlines, and deliverables across multiple client accounts
- Coordinate with internal teams including creative, paid media, advocacy, and communications
- Conduct research on industries, policy developments, and stakeholder landscapes to inform strategy
- Identify and flag relevant news, policy activity, or opportunities that may affect client work
Qualifications
- Strong writing and research skills, with an interest in public affairs, policy advocacy, or stakeholder engagement
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities
- Demonstrated curiosity and a problem-solving mindset
- Comfortable collaborating with diverse stakeholders and working as part of a team
- Interest in Democratic politics, public affairs, and advocacy campaigns
