Role
Assemble is a leading political and public affairs firm that partners with companies, coalitions, and associations across financial services, energy, sports and entertainment, technology, labor, and healthcare.
The Corporate & Issue Advocacy team partners with leading companies, coalitions, trade associations, and advocacy organizations to shape public opinion, navigate complex public affairs challenges, and execute strategic communications and digital advocacy campaigns across highly regulated industries including sports and entertainment, healthcare, AI & emerging technology, and more.
The Corporate & Issue Advocacy Intern will play an active role in supporting integrated public affairs and advocacy campaigns for major companies, coalitions, and organizations. This role is ideal for someone interested in strategic communications, public affairs, advocacy, digital campaigns, and corporate reputation management.
The Intern will contribute to research, messaging, content development, campaign execution, and reporting while collaborating closely with team members across strategy, communications, creative, paid media, and digital advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of public affairs and advocacy campaign materials, including research memos, presentations, reports, messaging documents, and client deliverables
- Assist in drafting client-facing content, including emails, social media copy, talking points, newsletters, and advocacy communications
- Conduct research and monitor news, legislative activity, and industry trends relevant to client campaigns and emerging policy issues
- Help track and analyze campaign performance metrics across digital advocacy and communications efforts
- Collaborate with internal teams, including paid media, creative, digital advocacy, and communications, on integrated campaign execution
- Support day-to-day campaign coordination across fast-moving client accounts and internal projects
Qualifications
- Strong writing, research, and communication skills
- Interest in public affairs, advocacy campaigns, strategic communications, and specific policy areas like sports betting and healthcare
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn across disciplines
- Familiarity with social media platforms, digital communications, or political/public affairs campaigns is a plus

Compensation
