Digital Strategy Directors at BCom have multiple cycles of experience working for a digital strategy firm, in-house at a statewide political or advocacy campaign, or party committee.

They have experience managing or mentoring a team and are the ultimate problem-solvers. As managers to digital strategists at BCom they not only have deep digital strategy chops, but also a proven ability to coach and transfer their abilities to direct reports.

Experience, Skills and Competencies

  • 3+ or more years of experience raising money online for a political or issue-based campaign, nonprofit or democrat allied organization or agency.
  • 2-3+ years of experience managing client accounts, preferably with experience managing multiple accounts or projects simultaneously. You know how to earn a client's trust and come on board as a partner.
  • 2+ years experience as a manager or a mentor with an excellent track record of developing and growing teammates with discretion in delegating tasks.
  • Proficiency using digital tools, including a CRM system and fundraising tools (ex, ActBlue, NGP, EveryAction, Mailchimp, ActionKit, ControlShift, or others).
  • Proven curiosity to learn and test new ways of digital fundraising and campaigning — and then share findings teamwide.
  • Highly creative, innovative thinker capable of managing all aspects of multiple projects simultaneously including: digital launch, list growth strategy, copywriting, email production, reporting, and analytics.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic virtual working environment where your communication and collaboration with coworkers and clients will be remote.
  • Proven ability to proactively problem-solve technical, strategy, and client management challenges.
  • Experience with training, coaching, and mentoring junior-level employees on digital fundraising practices and account management skills.

Primary Areas of Responsibility

Account Management (60%)

  • Serve as “point person” on two to three accounts leading the account team and daily internal and external account management.
  • Manage the execution and delegation of deliverables for email fundraising, digital advertising, social media, and/or other digital projects as required. This can include:
    • Development of client email + social content calendars
    • Drafting compelling content asking for grassroots donations
    • Code and segment emails to targeted universes on email CRM
    • Review performance and optimize program based on data
  • Communicate successes to clients and maintain a positive client relationship
  • Take the initiative to experiment, try new things, and bring a fresh perspective to be internal and external relationships in collaboration with teammates and direct reports.

Team Management (40%)

  • You will be responsible for the growth and success of 2-4 team of strategists. This includes onboarding + training, biweekly 1:1s, and performance reviews.
  • You will assist in helping your team prioritize tasks, clients, and internal needs including capacity management and onboarding new client accounts.
  • Ensuring that team members are following firm protocols and processes and providing resources and guidance to course-correct if needed.
  • Ensuring high quality of work across their teams’ accounts and giving constructive feedback when they’re not being met.
  • You will work with the Managing Director on a weekly basis to report on your own and team activities as well as establish goals
  • Assist in growing your pod’s book of business, encouraging all pod members to participate in business development

The salary range for this position is $77,300 - $100,500. This position can also be remote or based in our Lincoln, NE headquarters.
