Position Overview

Blueprint NC seeks a Data & Tools contractor to fill a temporary position 10-15 hours a week through the November 2024 Election.

The Data & Tools contractor will support Blueprint staff and our partners in meeting VAN and tools requests.

Principal Responsibilities

VAN Support

• Provide everyday Voter Activation Network (VAN) support and troubleshooting for table and partner organizations

• Conduct VAN trainings (in person and online)

Data Strategy and Partner Support

• In a timely fashion, support monitoring and responding to Blueprint NC’s Fresh Desk where data request tickets come in
• Train partners and table staff on VAN and other tools including Thrutalk, Dispatch (Spoke), Empower, and Openfield
• Work with partner organizations to establish and maintain best practices and standards for data collection

Documentation

• Maintain documentation of support provided to partners

Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:

• At least one to two years of experience in a data role, preferably in a political or nonprofit environment
• Strong experience using VAN (Voter Activation Network)
• Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets
• Proficiency in Thrutalk, Dispatch (Spoke), Empower, or similar tools.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Experience working in coalition with partners or in diverse communities
• Demonstrated commitment to racial and gender equity
• Experience mentoring or training preferred
• Background in 501c3 work or desire to work with progressive organizations is encouraged

Location

This position is remote from anywhere but work hours and availability are in Eastern Standard Time.
