Opportunity, Overview, and Expectations:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic social-strategist intern who is passionate about social strategy, social media management, influencers, and their community.

The Nevadan – El Nevadense is a state-based newsroom of local editors and reporters with a modern take on sharing information and telling stories that matter to our communities. Our stories, delivered in both Spanish and English, are factual and focus on the people who call the Silver State home. We deliver these stories to our audience via social media, our website, and in newsletters delivered straight to your inbox.

The Nevadan – El Nevadense is owned and operated by COURIER, a pro-democracy news network that is building a more informed, engaged, and representative America by reaching audiences where they are online with factual, values-driven news and analysis at the local and national level.

The Nevadan’s social strategist intern will be responsible for content creation, publishing, copywriting, analytics, and working with influencers.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We're seeking ambitious and eager intern who is passionate about journalism, politics, and the digital media landscape. The ideal candidate should possess:

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and major social media platforms.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to problem-solve and multitask effectively.

- Initiative, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.

- Flexibility and creativity in adapting to shifting priorities.

- Interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.

- Professionalism and innovation in approach.

Program Requirements:

To be eligible, candidates must:

- Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.

- Be at least 18 years old.

- Commit to a minimum of 12 weeks of internship.

- Be fully remote/virtual.

- Work a maximum of 15 hours per week (flexibility based on schedules).

- Availability to work a maximum of 15 hours per week, with flexibility based on schedules.

- Must live in Nevada and speak English and Spanish, basic production and editing skills are a plus- recording content from your iPhone will be required in this role; being on camera is not.
