📍 Remote (U.S.-based) | 💼 Contractor | 💰 $5,000 a month retainer plus commission-based

Contractor Role: Contractor - Sponsorship Sales (Washington, DC)

Location: Washington, DC (remote, with in-person meetings as needed)
Contract Type: Independent Contractor
Compensation: $5,000 a month retainer plus commission-based, $100K - $110 OTE

COURIER Newsroom is seeking an experienced Contractor for Sponsorship Sales to deliver sponsorship and advertising revenue from political campaigns, PACs, and advocacy organizations across our state-based newsrooms and national brand. This consultancy will deliver new business, while managing and growing key client relationships throughout the election cycle.

Scope of Work

  • Partnership Engagements: Research, build and deliver a pipeline of sponsorship, digital agency, and advertising partners in the DC area.
  • Materials & Pitches: Deliver and tailor sales collateral, sponsorship decks, and special package proposals for existing and prospective partners.
  • Performance Reports: Deliver reports on sponsorship and advertising campaign performance; provide insights and recommendations to partners as directed by the company
  • Sales and Pipeline Tracking: Track sales activity and deliver regular pipeline reports as directed by the company

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in sponsorship or event sales, advertising partnerships, or business development, ideally with political and advocacy groups.
  • Proven ability to deliver sponsorships as a consultant with mission-aligned organizations and brands.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with comfort in client-facing roles.
  • Experience delivering outbound sales strategies, prospecting, and inbound lead management as an independent consultant.
  • Ability to deliver reports with digital advertising platforms and campaign analytics (Sailthru, Meta Business Suite, TikTok Ads Manager, etc.).
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive consultant with the ability to meet timelines and deliverables.
