The instructor teaches courses to help participants learn life skills for combatting toxic stress, developing resilience, and increasing overall well-being. You will work with small groups of participants, virtually or in person, to help them establish these skills. This role also assists with the ongoing development of the program, including assessment and curriculum planning.
This is a hybrid position.
Colorado residency required
Salary Range: $22.68 - $28.08 - $37.80

Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements standardized classroom training for various learning levels.
- Attends trainings as needed to implement curriculum.
- Assists and assesses participants on standardized life skills evaluations.
- May work with staff evaluation team as needed to capture program outcomes.
- Documents individual class participation and communicates outcomes to team staff.
- Assists with data entry in the tracking system to ensure accurate reporting.
- Attends team meetings, provides feedback, and works closely with JFS staff to ensure successful outcomes and participant learning.
- Manages classroom environment, keeps records of attendance, prepares classroom sessions, and monitors classroom needs.
- Assists with classroom schedule, space needs, and teaches and facilitates classes that help program adhere to grant requirements and increase skill acquisition for participants.
- Teaches classes virtually and in-person with the ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings, and at different locations across Denver Metro.
- Maintains knowledge of mental health trends and participates in the appropriate adaptation of curriculum. Assists in ongoing research and development of the program.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related field preferred but not required.
Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years experience teaching or working in mental health.
- Experience working with people with varied education levels and life barriers is preferred.
- Must have experience working with online and in-person classroom instruction.
- Familiarity with academic research on person-centered mental health practices, social-emotional learning, and social justice standards is strongly preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
Other:
- High level of comfort with difficult emotions and conversations and dedication to destigmatizing mental health.
- Must possess intermediate computer skills and be comfortable teaching and working virtually.
- Must have driver’s license, automobile, and vehicle insurance coverage.
