The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, digital strategy, research support and management consulting. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. We look for talented and hard-working professionals who are committed to electing Democrats and winning the House majority.
Due to the cyclic nature of our organization, all positions are subject to separation at the end of the election cycle.
Position Summary:
The DCCC National Spokesperson is responsible for long term/broad trend pieces and proactive pitching of stories about the battlefield and Democratic vs. Republican candidates. This person is also responsible for managing, prepping, and booking any surrogates the Committee utilizes (including DCCC Leadership Chairs). They will serve as the point person for cable bookers and podcast producers to be in constant communication about the battlefield writ-large and in charge of booking both surrogates and senior staff on said programs to spread DCCC’s message to as many outlets as possible. This person will manage the Deputy National Spokesperson.
Responsibilities:
- Serving as on-the-record spokesperson for House Democrats’ campaign arm, shaping the national media narrative of the House battlefield;
- Preparing outward facing material that communicates the DCCC’s position and reflects its strategic viewpoint;
- Working alongside National Press Secretary to ensure national media awareness of key Congressional races;
- Providing strategic guidance to the DCCC, with an eye to the perceptions of the national media;
- Helping to combat the national Republican arm’s earned strategy by assisting with crisis communications;
- Conducting outreach to cable bookers, podcast producers, and other new media outlets with the purpose of booking surrogates and senior staff to spread the DCCC’s message;
- Performing other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the Communications team.
- A minimum of three cycles of on-the-record campaign communications experience required, with congressional experience preferred;
- Team-player, highly organized with an eye for detail;

- Proven ability to think outside the box when it comes to landing earned hits and spreading a message across the media ecosystem;
