The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, digital strategy, research support and management consulting. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. Due to the cyclic nature of our organization, all positions are subject to separation at the end of the election cycle.
Position Summary:
The Member Engagement Manager will assist with all DCCC interactions and operations with Members of Congress and incumbent protection. This position will execute logistics, tracking, data maintenance and meeting support and day to day programming operations for the DCCC Member Engagement team.
This position is part of a collective bargaining unit.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Member Engagement Director on high-priority initiatives and special projects, including volunteer support, safe-seat nominee engagement, surrogate programming, and mentorship initiatives
- Manage long-term Member Engagement programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timely execution (launchpad, retreats, training and surrogate operations as needed)
- Manage and track incumbent fundraising activity, including call time, events, digital revenue, and progress toward cash-on-hand and budget benchmarks
- Track Member requests, meetings, events, projects, and incumbent races; support day-to-day logistics
- Draft programmatic proposals, strategic memos, and senior-level deliverables for Members, candidates, and congressional staff
- Create and manage presentations and written materials for internal leadership, Members, and external stakeholders as needed
- Draft pre-election night materials, race memos, call sheets and pre-primary memos
- Manage the Member Engagement calendar, expenses, departmental tracking systems, and resource toolkits
- Assist with staff training and congressional staff outreach
- Other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the Member Engagement team
- At least one cycle (2 years) of administrative and operational experience is preferred
- Strong understanding of the House Democratic Caucus
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once
- Superior time management, planning, organizational and communications skills
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong ability to build and run tight, efficient systems and processes across multiple departments and external partners including legal and campaigns
- Attention to detail and self-motivation required
- Experience with Microsoft office, especially Excel, is required, and experience with G suite is strongly preferred
