The Communications Advisor will be tasked with overseeing campaign communications - online and in print and traditional media - in every aspect of the race for Secretary of State through 2024 - with a particular focus on defining Republican candidates in the race.

In partnership with relevant consultants, advisors and team members, the Communications Advisor will develop, implement, and manage a communications and digital outreach plan.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute earned media strategy to define Republican candidates
  • Develop and executing a social media strategy
  • Produce press materials, including: releases, advisories, fact sheets, background for reporters, talking points for allies, LTEs and Op-Ed columns, and other items as needed
  • Build and maintain relationships with the state and local press corps
  • Pitch and developing opposition research
  • Identify and maintain a network of local surrogates and validators for local and national press interviews

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidates will have at least one cycle as a communications staffer.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exceptional writing background
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Digital fluency
  • Interest in emerging trends and technologies to reach audiences online
  • Willingness to learn and ask questions
