Voter Protection Program Associate

The Democratic Party of Georgia (DPG) is seeking a Voter Protection Program Associate. This is a full-time paid position.
About the Democratic Party of Georgia Voter Protection Program: The mission of the Voter Protection Program is to ensure that every eligible Georgia voter can vote, that every eligible vote is counted, and that election results are certified.
What You’ll Do:
The Voter Protection Program Associate will support the Democratic Party of Georgia’s voter protection programming by working to recruit and engage a robust team of volunteers who will serve as poll watchers, hotline volunteers, ballot monitors and count observers, vote review panelists, ballot cure volunteers, and other volunteer roles. This role reports to the Deputy Voter Protection Director for Programs.
As a Voter Protection Program Associate, you will be expected to:
- Work alongside the Voter Protection Director and the voter protection team to implement the voter protection plan.
- Recruit and train volunteers for in-person and virtual voter protection projects including: phonebanking, relational organizing, and text banking.
- Focus on cross departmental recruitment of voter protection volunteers, working closely with the voter protection team, including with event hosting and special projects as necessary.
- Use independent creativity and judgment to keep our core team of volunteers engaged and active, including through communicating with volunteers and supporting online volunteer communities.
- Create resources and facilitate trainings for voter protection volunteers and volunteer leaders;
- Utilize voter protection volunteer data in Votebuilder, ensuring organization and data integrity;
- Support internal and external communication around voter protection in Georgia;
- Support other voter protection team members and programs as needed, including the election administration program and the voter protection Hotline.
Who You Are:
- One cycle of campaign experience preferred, but not required
- Passionate about electing Democrats at every level of the ticket in Georgia
- Strong lens and judgment on issues of race and equity: Clearly and consistently articulates a sophisticated understanding of racial equity and structural racism as it relates to the work we do and how we operate internally at DPG. Organizes from a racial justice perspective, with emphasis on voter suppression’s disproportionate impact on communities of color
- Highly organized; able to work independently and problem solve
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds
- Proven time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in order to meet deadlines
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new skills and work with other team members, as well as a desire to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and Votebuilder preferred
