About the Opportunity

The Georgia Coordinated Campaign is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Data Director to join our team. Georgia will be one of the most closely-watched states during the 2026 Midterm election cycle, and the Data Department will play a critical role in ensuring our program is able to effectively and efficiently reach voters across the state to re-elect U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff, win the Governor’s mansion, and elect Democrats up and down the ticket.

The Deputy Data Director will assist in creating and maintaining the overall data infrastructure for the Coordinated Campaign and will take on specific projects to support the campaign’s various departments. Ideal candidates will have a combination of technical aptitude, soft skills, and enthusiasm for the mission and values of the Democratic Party.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Data Director in designing and implementing the campaign’s statewide data program, including analytics, reporting, and targeting.
  • Build, maintain, and own end-to-end automations connecting volunteer intake, scheduling, communications, and credentialing across multiple platforms.
  • Build and maintain automated and ad-hoc reports to evaluate organizing, volunteer recruitment, and voter contact programs.
  • Administer NGP VAN and other volunteer and voter contact tools, developing training, best practices, and support documentation.
  • Work closely across campaign departments to collect, analyze, and present actionable insights that inform strategic decisions.
  • Analyze program results and present findings and recommendations to campaign leadership. ● Ensure data quality, maintain pipelines, and troubleshoot issues to guarantee smooth operations across programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Data Director.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ cycles of experience on a political campaign or equivalent experience in a data-oriented or technical role (data analytics, database administration, software development, or data engineering), or a combination of political and technical experience.
  • Advanced experience with VAN, including hands-on work with the VAN/EveryAction API to schedule volunteers into events and shifts, apply survey questions and activist codes, and sync records across systems.
  • Advanced experience with Google Sheets or Excel, plus workflow automation via Google Apps Script or comparable scripting (form intake, triggered emails, event reminders).
  • Proficiency with Python for API integrations, recurring cross-platform data syncs, and processing large datasets; intermediate-to-advanced SQL and cloud data warehouse experience.
  • Experience generating personalized documents at scale (mail-merge or programmatic PDF) and managing templated, data-driven volunteer communications.
  • Familiarity with geocoding and basic geospatial analysis (e.g. nearest-location assignment) is a plus.
  • Comfort designing jurisdiction-dependent conditional logic and documenting processes for handoff and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with predictive models and voter targeting; experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Hex, Streamlit) preferred.
  • Strong organizational and strategic thinking; able to translate analysis into actionable plans and take ownership of inherited systems.
