Overview

The Democratic Party of Georgia is seeking a Digital Associate to support the Digital Director in creating compelling digital content, maintaining brand consistency across platforms, and capturing real-time content at events throughout Georgia for the 2026 cycle. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about democracy, social media, storytelling, and community engagement.

The ideal candidate is creative, organized, comfortable working in fast-paced environments, and excited to help build a strong Democratic digital presence in Georgia. This is a full-time role based in Atlanta, GA, from September to November.

Responsibilities

Content Creation and Editing

• Create engaging content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, Threads, Bluesky, and YouTube.
• Assist with graphic design, video editing, caption writing, and content scheduling.
• Participate in the creation of digital content as an on-camera contributor, including TikToks, Instagram Reels, testimonials, interviews, trend-based videos, and other social media content.
• Transform speeches, events, announcements, and breaking news into compelling digital content.
• Draft social media copy and digital communications that align with DPG’s messaging and goals.
• Assist in maintaining and organizing digital asset libraries, templates, and content calendars.
• Assist in maintaining a relationship with digital creators and influencers for on-the-ground work.

Digital Quality Control

• Review and proofread digital content to ensure accuracy, consistency, accessibility, and adherence to party branding guidelines.
• Monitor social media platforms for engagement opportunities and emerging trends.
• Ensure content follows organizational digital guidance, best practices, and messaging standards.
• Support rapid response efforts by identifying timely content opportunities and helping execute approved messaging.

Event Coverage & Storytelling

• Attend campaign, party, community, and partner events across Georgia to capture photos, videos, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content.
• Create real-time content during events, including Stories, Reels, TikToks, and live updates.
• Work with staff, elected officials, candidates, volunteers, and community leaders to highlight key moments and stories.
• Organize, edit, and deliver event content promptly for digital distribution.

Team Support

• Assist the Digital Director with project management and content planning.
• Help coordinate content requests and deadlines across departments.
• Support digital organizing and voter engagement efforts through online platforms.
• Perform other digital communications duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Strong understanding of major social media platforms and current digital trends.
• Experience creating content for Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X, TikTok, and YouTube.
• 2+ years of experience in graphic design and video editing skills using tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout Georgia for events.
• Availability for occasional evenings and weekends.

Preferred

• Experience working on political campaigns, advocacy organizations, nonprofits, or community-based initiatives.
• Photography and videography experience.
• Familiarity with social media analytics and performance reporting.
• Passion for Democratic politics, civic engagement, and voter outreach.
• Multilingual proficiency is a plus.
