About

The Data Assistant will be a crucial part of election work for both the upcoming Midterm Elections and the Municipal Elections in 2027. This is a full time, in-person position, lasting from May 2026 through April 2027, requiring the candidate to work out of our HQ Office in Chicago.

Key Responsibilities

  • Owns the set up and tracking of VAN and other data tools contracts (will not be responsible for the shut down of those committees unless specifically requested by the Data Director).

  • Manages routine data Export Requests Monday through Fridays (Data Director will handle any off-hour or unusual requests).

  • Helps to manage Support Requests submitted through DPI Data Team shared email address ([email protected]) with assistance from other members of the Data Team.

  • Assists Data Director with any Coordinated Campaign data projects as well as any Municipal Election data work.

  • Attends weekly and monthly Data Team meetings to map project deadlines and draft communications to VAN users.

Required Qualifications

  • A passion for electing Democrats and supporting data infrastructure

  • Strong ability to independently manage workload and prioritize projects to meet established deadlines

  • Demonstrated capacity to synthesize, track, and report data

  • Proven commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture

  • Experience with Google Sheets and NGPVAN

The salary for this position is $55,000. The position has a start date of May 18, 2026 and concludes on April 30, 2027. The position includes a full benefits package, with health, vision, and dental insurance. This position will report directly to the Data Director. Additional benefits include PTO, paid parental leave, and paid sick leave.
