Job Title: Volunteer Exempt Mail Director
Reports to: WI Coordinated Campaign - Chief Operations Officer
Salary: $84,000/annually, with a generous benefits package
Location: Madison or Milwaukee, WI (Please note: Employment with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin requires residence or willingness to relocate to the state of Wisconsin.)

The Opportunity: The Volunteer Exempt Mail Director will be responsible for overseeing the volunteer exempt mail program for a statewide coordinated campaign as our operation scales up for the 2024 cycle. The ideal applicant works well in fast-paced environments, can effectively communicate within our team and across departments, and has operations or compliance experience. This position requires some flexible hours and eagerness to assist on any task. This is a termed position through the end of the 2024 campaign cycle.

Job Responsibilities:
- Design and execute the Volunteer Exempt Mail program in partnership with our Operations and Compliance teams
- Manage a team of Volunteer Exempt Mail Associates
- Ensure all aspects of the program are in compliance with State and Federal campaign finance laws, maintaining accurate and thorough supporting documentation
- Work cross-departmentally to ensure that all departments are aligned around design, approvals, printing, budgeting, payment, and bulk distribution needs
- Develop and manage processes for design approvals, printing schedules, and the recruitment and training of mail volunteers
- Serve as the primary point of contact between mail vendors, candidate campaigns, mailhouses, and volunteers, facilitating effective communication and coordination with these external stakeholders
- Monitor and address all bulk mail-related needs within the campaign
- Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned
- On year requirements include working outside of normal work hours; including canvassing and other election-preparation as necessary

- Technical Proficiency - Highly proficient in Excel/google docs with experience working from shared databases and workbooks
- Excellent Verbal & Written Communication Skills - Strong interpersonal skills, customer service attitude, and ability to communicate with people from many backgrounds
- Familiarity with Campaign Finance Laws - Familiarity of federal and state campaign finance laws
- Access to reliable transportation and a willingness to travel
- Familiarity with relevant rules and requirements set by the Federal Elections Commission, Wisconsin Ethics Commission, Wisconsin Elections Commission, and other related governing bodies, such as familiarity with (FEA) Federal Election Activity, USPS Nonprofit Bulk Mailing permit requirements
- Prior experience working on campaigns or other related fields
