The Opportunity: As a Deputy Organizing Director, you will be a senior leader of Wisconsin's nationally recognized grassroots organizing program. You will lead a large, diverse region of the state, managing a team of Regional Organizing Directors to build the volunteer infrastructure we need to win critical elections up and down the ballot in the November 2026 General Elections and beyond. You will be responsible for translating the statewide field strategy into on-the-ground execution, driving your team to meet and exceed ambitious goals.

Job Responsibilities:

Team Management & Performance Coaching

  • Effectively manage, coach, and develop a team of Regional Organizing Directors, ensuring they have the skills and support needed to build and lead local grassroots teams.
  • Drive a data-driven culture of performance, using metrics to set clear expectations, diagnose challenges, and hold your team accountable to ambitious voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals.
  • Partner with the Organizing Director to hire, onboard, and train a diverse and talented team of Regional Organizing Directors and Field Organizers.
  • Foster an inclusive and engaging team culture rooted in a commitment to continuous feedback and professional growth.

Strategic Field Execution

  • In consultation with the Organizing Director, develop and execute the organizing plan for your specific region of Wisconsin.
  • Implement a wide range of grassroots field tactics, including canvassing, phone banking, and relational organizing, ensuring all activities are executed to a high standard.
  • Analyze organizing data to identify opportunities, strategically allocate resources, and ensure your team is focused on the most impactful activities.

Volunteer Infrastructure & Training

  • Oversee the development of the volunteer infrastructure in your region, ensuring the creation of self-sufficient, volunteer-led Neighborhood Action Teams.
  • In collaboration with the other Deputies, develop and lead volunteer and staff-facing trainings that build the skills needed to win.
  • Develop a plan to reach and engage underserved populations within your region, ensuring our volunteer base reflects the full diversity of the electorate.

Other

  • Be a representative of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin and our policies, including neutrality as directed.
  • On year requirements include working outside of normal work hours; including canvassing and other election-preparation as necessary.
