Social Media Strategist

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is hiring a Social Media Strategist to help support the committee’s digital content and social media program for the 2026 cycle. The Social Media Strategist will aid in brainstorming, drafting, and posting day-to-day content across DSCC-managed accounts. The role emphasizes rapid response and vertical video, and requires strong writing skills, creativity, and sound judgment. The ideal candidate brings 1–2 campaign cycles or the equivalent of experience, creativity, a strong knowledge of what performs on different platforms, and the ability to move quickly while balancing multiple priorities.

This person will work within the Digital Content Department and report to the Social Platforms Director. This position is based in Washington, DC. This position is expected to regularly come into the DSCC office and may occasionally require travel throughout the cycle and travel to a battleground state for GOTV efforts ahead of Election Day.

Responsibilities
  • Draft and produce creative, compelling and message-driven content for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and more
  • Help brainstorm, plan, and maintain content calendars aligned with committee messaging and priorities
  • Assist with day-to-day content posting and platform management, with a strong eye for detail and accuracy
  • Collaborate with the creative team on graphics and video needs
  • Track relevant political news, social media trends, and campaign updates to help inform content
  • Compile daily clips and reports on campaigns’ social media activity
  • Monitor content performance and assist in analytics reporting and takeaways
About You
  • 1–2 cycles or the equivalent of experience for a Democratic campaign, committee, advocacy organization, or other political office
  • You’re creative and have a strong understanding of social media trends and best practices
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Experienced or comfortable working on camera for vertical video content is a plus, but not required
  • Graphic design and video experience, including familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Illustrator) or other creative tools (Canva, Kapwing, CapCut), is preferred, but not required
  • Committed to a collaborative, no-drama team environment
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
The salary for this position is $62,500 annually.
