| Deputy Digital Media Director The DSCC is seeking a Deputy Digital Media Director to help manage the DSCC’s digital media operations, including supporting the DSCC and Senate campaigns on all things digital communications, content, and paid media. This role will help manage the DSCC’s digital paid media support for campaigns and the building, providing feedback on plans, reviewing digital competitives, and offering guidance. This role will also lead on working with content creators and new media, as well as helping the DSCC content team on social media, graphics, and video production. This person will report directly to the Digital Media Director, and be heavily involved in the work of electing Democratic Senators. They will work cross-departmentally to execute National and State-specific strategy, while supporting department programming and functions.This role requires the routine exercise of discretion and independent judgment on significant issues. This is not always a 9-6, M-F job and will require work outside of normal business hours. This position is based in Washington, DC. This position is expected to regularly come into the DSCC office and may occasionally require travel throughout the cycle and travel to a battleground state for GOTV efforts ahead of Election Day. Responsibilities: - Work closely with the Digital Media Director to develop Committee-wide programming, including paid media, organic media, and work with content creators and new media
- Help review digital proposals and media plans from consultants to ensure campaigns are receiving competitive rates and sound guidance
- Assist with developing digital competitive data and reports to help inform campaigns’ spending decisions
- Work with the Digital Media Director to standardize reporting across states, ensuring decisions are being made using the best data available
- Assist Digital Media Director with managing an eight-person department and oversee production and workflow of video, graphics, and social media across departments and external partners
- Further the DSCC’s new media efforts, including conducting outreach to and developing relationships with podcasters, youtubers, and content creators
- Help develop and manage DSCC content creator efforts, including sourcing, outreach, coordination, and content development
- Support with national digital content pushes for the DSCC including digital ads, microsites, and content launches
- Help facilitate the approvals process for DSCC content and conduct quality assurance checks
- Track digital data and trends and share that information with campaigns and DSCC leadership
- Occasionally help produce content for the DSCC and campaigns
- Otherwise support the work of the Digital Media Director
About You - At least 2 cycles of campaign experience including campaign work outside of DC
- Experience as a Digital Director on a Senate campaign or other statewide campaign highly preferred
- Experience with principal/candidate management
- Experience managing teams that include both staff and consultants
- Experience with running digital persuasion and mobilization ad programs
- Experience managing organic social media for a candidate, elected official, or other principal
- Experience working with content creators and/or non-traditional media highly preferred
- Proficiency in graphic design, photography, and audio/video editing a plus
- Committed to a no drama workplace
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
- Ability to juggle multiple projects of varying complexity while ensuring timely delivery
