Job Title: Deputy Campaign Manager

Reports To: Campaign Manager, Taylor Gillespie

Salary: $7,500–$8,500/month (commensurate with experience)

Start Date: ASAP

Position Type: Full-time, through November 2026

Location: Primarily in-person, based in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District. You are expected to work on-site most weekdays, with limited telework flexibility. Evening and weekend availability is required for in-person events and campaign activities.

About the Campaign

We are building a people-powered campaign to flip Colorado’s 4th Congressional District and elect Rear Admiral (Ret.) Eileen Laubacher. Eileen is a national security leader, mom of five, and lifelong public servant who believes in service over partisanship and delivering real results for Colorado communities. This district represents one of the country’s most competitive opportunities for change, and we are seeking a Deputy Campaign Manager who can help drive strategy, coordination, and execution across the campaign.

Position Overview

The Deputy Campaign Manager is a senior, hands-on role focused on campaign management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic coordination. You will serve as a key partner to the Campaign Manager and candidate, helping direct day-to-day operations, plan and staff travel, cultivate local relationships, and ensure work across teams remains aligned with campaign objectives.

While this role includes oversight of communications and voter engagement channels, it requires someone equally comfortable leading operational planning, shaping political outreach, and supporting on-the-ground execution. You will help ensure the campaign remains nimble, values-driven, and widely connected across diverse communities throughout the district.

Responsibilities

Strategic and Operational Coordination

• Work closely with the Campaign Manager to set weekly priorities, track progress, and address challenges. • Coordinate across departments, consultants, and volunteers to keep operations aligned and moving efficiently. • Support call time, scheduling, and event planning to ensure seamless execution of campaign activities. • Develop briefing materials, route plans, and staffing plans for travel throughout the district.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with local leaders, county parties, veterans, agricultural stakeholders, and community organizations. • Support endorsement outreach, tracking, and follow-up. • Represent the campaign in meetings, coalition spaces, and community events as needed. • Identify and elevate local voices and priorities to inform campaign strategy.

Message and Public Engagement

• Contribute to message development that reflects community priorities and Eileen’s background. • Assist with drafting campaign materials such as emails, talking points, newsletters, and social media updates. • Help coordinate local media engagement and earned media opportunities. • Track district conversations, monitor opponent activity, and provide recommendations for rapid response.

Event Execution and Field Support

• Staff campaign events, support logistical planning, and ensure materials are prepared and organized. • Assist with voter outreach activities and ensure feedback from events informs strategy. • Capture stories, photos, and insights from the field to strengthen voter engagement and narrative. • Collaborate with field, political, and fundraising teams to maintain consistent outreach and message alignment.

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of experience in campaign management, political organizing, policy advocacy, or public affairs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and comfort engaging communities across a large and diverse district.
  • Experience with operational logistics and planning for a dynamic candidate schedule.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and social platforms; familiarity with NGP VAN, ActBlue, and CMS tools a plus.
  • Commitment to electing leaders grounded in service, integrity, and community.
