EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, is searching for a Communications Research Coordinator to join our Communications Research team. The Communications Research Coordinator plays a critical part in monitoring public narratives and ensuring all organizational communications are grounded in accurate, timely information.

Essential Job Functions
Fact-check content and materials with meticulous precision and calm during high-volume, fast-paced periods;
Serve as the point person for organization-wide proofreading and copy-editing needs ensuring that approval deadlines are met;
Track and manage data related to organizational and electoral priorities — including internal data, campaign finance, and other public records — to support research, analysis, and strategic communications initiatives;
Vet individuals, vendors, and venues for internal and external events;
Track and analyze media coverage, interviews, and transcript readouts to identify trends, messaging opportunities, and risks;
Conduct rapid-response research to support communications and digital teams;
Assist with drafting memos, backgrounders, and other written materials for internal and external use;
Support the training and management of department interns;
Be available outside of normal office hours to fulfill requests as needed;
Assist with any other assignments and tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Extremely keen attention to detail, meticulous, and thorough copy-editing skills;
- Familiarity with Associated Press style editing and formatting;
- Strong writing, grammar, communication, and organizational skills;
- Experience prioritizing and working on multiple projects at once;
- Experience in campaigns/politics/advocacy a plus, preferably in a research environment;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Works, Google Suite, and other programs to track, organize, and present data effectively;
- Experience using federal and state government databases and official data sources a plus;
- Proactive self-starter with a hunger to continuously learn and expand the EMILYs List community;

Our office is based in Washington, D.C. This position is based in the D.C. office with a hybrid schedule requiring at least three days per week in office.
