As the Political Director for the Florida Democratic Party, you will serve as the primary liaison between the state party and elected officials, party leaders, and community stakeholders. Your role will be instrumental in fostering strong relationships and partnerships to advance the party's objectives, promote its message, advocate for its policy positions, and support democratic candidates across all levels of government during the electoral cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison Between State Party and Stakeholders:
  • Act as the central point of contact for elected officials, party leaders, and community stakeholders.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with the party's goals and messaging.
  • Strategic Engagement and Partnership Building:
  • Collaborate with elected officials, party leaders, and community stakeholders to develop and execute strategic events and activities that promote the party's message and policy positions.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership to enhance the party's impact and reach within the community.
  • Oversee the state party’s coalition work, including our youth council and vice chairs for Black, Hispanic, and Faith outreach.
  • Promotion of Party Message and Policy Positions:
  • Work closely with stakeholders to effectively communicate the party's message and policy positions to constituents and the broader community.
  • Develop and implement strategies to amplify the party's message through various channels, including traditional media, social media, and grassroots organizing.
  • Support for Democratic Candidates:
  • Provide support and assistance to democratic candidates running for office at all levels of government.
  • Coordinate efforts to mobilize resources, volunteers, and grassroots support to help democratic candidates succeed in their campaigns.
  • Political Strategy and Analysis:Monitor political developments and trends at the state and local levels.
  • Provide strategic advice and analysis to party leadership on political matters, including electoral strategy, messaging, and candidate recruitment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Previous experience working in political campaigns, party organizations, or government offices.
  • Strong understanding of state and local political landscape, including knowledge of key stakeholders and community dynamics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse groups of people.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Commitment to democratic values and principles.
