The Florida Democratic Party is expanding our team in advance of the 2024 General Election and is seeking Regional Field Directors who thrive in a dynamic, data-driven environment . This position is full-time and will require work on nights and weekends. The position will require some limited travel within the state.

Duties

  • Work with existing Democratic Party infrastructure to conduct voter outreach, engagement, and voter registration.
  • Lead and manage the party’s voter registration efforts in assigned regions.
  • Directly manage and train a team of dedicated volunteers and precinct organizers in your region to increase Democratic voter registration.
  • Work with county parties, clubs, and caucuses to set up weekly voter registration phone bank, relational text bank, and door-to-door canvassing events.
  • Use field reporting tools to track progress across your region and within your counties.
  • Assist with identifying talent and the recruitment of high-quality organizers.
  • Conduct outreach to local community leaders and progressive organizations at the grasstops level.
  • Assist with local and regional on-site event operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Experience in community organizing, legislative, public affairs, sociology, or policy‑oriented environment including issue or electoral campaigns, advocacy or related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in community organizing and legislative/political/electoral work.
  • Excellent relationship building skills and strong knowledge of your local community.
  • Experience working and effectively developing leadership within underserved communities and communities of color.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders of diverse backgrounds and socio-economic levels.
  • Self-motivation, professionalism and a positive demeanor.
  • Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills.
  • Extremely organized.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite and VAN/VoteBuilder. Preferred, but not required, knowledge of Scale to Win Spoke Texting, Auto Dialer technologies, or Reach (Relational Organizing App).
  • Ability to work outside of typical business hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Committed to details, results, and consistent improvement.
  • A strong commitment to Democratic ideals and issues.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or Creole preferred.

Logistics

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable mode of transportation and the ability to travel at times throughout the state for more than a day at a time.
  • Must have access to a working smartphone and laptop.
  • Must have the ability to regularly lift and carry 25 lbs.
