Position: Digital Fellow Location: Tallahassee Reports to: Communications Director Schedule: 5 days per week, up to 40 hours per week Start Date: January 2026 through at least November 2026 Compensation: $15.00 hourly Digital Fellow The Florida Democratic Party (FDP) is seeking a Digital Fellow to join our Communications Team for the 2026 election cycle. This is a cycle-based position ideal for an early-career digital creator. Reporting to the Digital Manager, the Digital Fellow will support FDP’s digital presence by monitoring trends, creating platform-native content, assisting with rapid response, and helping amplify Democratic messaging across Florida throughout the election cycle. Responsibilities • Create original, high-quality digital content, including graphics, short-form video, and copy for FDP’s social media platforms. • Design graphics and edit video using tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe, or similar platforms. • Appear comfortably on camera for reels, TikToks, livestreams, and rapid-response content as needed. • Monitor breaking news, political developments, and digital trends to inform timely content creation. • Draft short-form captions, scripts, and talking points aligned with FDP messaging. • Help amplify content from the Party Chair, candidates, elected officials, and coalition partners. Qualifications and Skills • Committed to Democratic politics and progressive values. • 0–2 years of experience in digital content creation, social media, or communications (internships, fellowships, and campaign experience count). • Strong skills in creating graphics and video for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and YouTube. • Proficiency in Canva required; experience with CapCut or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. • Comfortable being on camera and creating authentic, personality-driven content. • Ability to work flexible hours, especially during peak moments of the election cycle. • Strong writing skills and an understanding of tone, message discipline, and audience targeting. Term, Salary & Benefits This is a cycle-based, full-time position running through the 2026 election. Compensation is $15 per hour, with up to 40 hours per week.
