Manager, Marketing & New Business Support, GSG Political
Full-time
Washington, DC, USA
USD 85k-100k / year
GSG is seeking a Marketing Manager who lives and breathes Democratic politics and is excited to drive the marketing efforts of one of the country’s leading Democratic polling firms. We’re looking for someone who understands Democratic politics and polling, follows the issues and conversations shaping the political world, and has strong instincts for how to turn GSG’s research, expertise, and wins into compelling content and marketing.
This is a hands-on role at the center of GSG Political’s marketing efforts. You’ll help shape and amplify our political narrative, develop and promote thought leadership, elevate our pollsters and research, drive media and executive visibility, and keep marketing initiatives moving across multiple channels. You’ll also support new business efforts by keeping the core materials and information our teams rely on for proposals and pitches current, organized, and easy to access.
The right candidate thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment and is exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven. This role has a lot of moving pieces and requires someone who can juggle competing priorities, anticipate what needs to happen next, and drive work forward. We have a strong foundation to build from, but we’re looking for someone who will proactively identify what we should be doing next and take ownership of making it happen.
Prior marketing experience isn’t required. What matters most are strong political instincts, excellent writing and communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to get things done. We’re looking for a proactive self-starter who loves politics and polling and brings both creativity and rigor to the work.
Responsibilities
- Own GSG Political’s content calendar and day-to-day marketing execution across social media, the website, email, and other channels, including maintaining accurate and up-to-date email distribution lists. Partner with the political team to surface important work, data, and insights; proactively identify new content and marketing opportunities; and take ownership of moving ideas through execution.
- Manage the GSG Political website, ensuring content is current, relevant, engaging, and reflective of the firm’s latest work and positioning.
- Manage political research content from concept through launch and promotion, including thought leadership research, op-eds, campaign wins, company announcements, and other timely content. Develop the copy and amplification plan for each initiative across earned, paid, social, email, and digital channels, ensuring consistency with GSG Political’s brand and positioning.
- Maintain and evolve GSG Political’s core narrative and marketing materials, including regularly updating decks with the firm’s latest work, data, insights, wins, and capabilities.
- Support GSG Political’s media and executive visibility efforts, including helping build relationships with political media, identifying speaking and conference opportunities, and coordinating interviews, op-eds, panels, and other appearances.
- Track and analyze marketing performance and manage the political marketing budget, using social, email, website, media, and other key metrics to evaluate effectiveness and inform where GSG Political should invest its marketing resources.
- Identify and manage award opportunities and submissions that showcase GSG Political’s campaign work, research, and team.
- Plan and execute GSG Political marketing events, including post-election parties and other external events and webinars, from planning through execution.
- Maintain and organize GSG Political’s core new business materials, including client lists, case studies, firm and team descriptions, and other content frequently used in proposals and pitch decks. Keep materials current and help teams quickly identify and use the strongest content for each opportunity.
- Help keep GSG Political’s client and new business information organized and up to date, working closely with the political and Dynamics teams to track priority opportunities and ensure information is accurate and consistent across systems and materials.
- Support internal requirements for new business opportunities, helping key sellers gather necessary information and navigate required internal processes.
- As needed, draft proposals and pitch decks in support of new business efforts.
