Overview:
GQR has an opening for a paid internship focusing on progressive political issues in the US and beyond. As internship needs change throughout the year, GQR follows a rolling application process. We are currently screening candidates who are able to join us at our Washington, D.C. home office. Please note that this is an in-office position, 5 days a week. Preference will be given to candidates able to work through either the end of election cycle, or end of calendar year.
Responsibilities:
GQR is seeking a full-time intern with excellent research, communication and organizational skills. Interns will be responsible for, among other tasks:
- Supporting our team’s work providing strategic quantitative and qualitative research for progressive political, corporate, and organizational clients
- Conducting background research
- Copy editing and proofing data in memos and presentations
- Keeping the team up to date on political candidates and elections
- Testing survey programming and monitoring survey dialing
- Light administrative duties
Opportunities:
Interns gain an inside perspective on public opinion polling: learning what it is, how it works, and how it's used in political and advocacy campaigns. Interns learn to work as part of a team in a fast-paced office setting while developing communication skills and a keen attention to detail. An internship at GQR gives interns exposure to a range of campaigns, career possibilities, and networking opportunities within the political consulting and market research industries.
Qualifications:
- Past office experience and proven ability to multi-task
- Familiarity with MS Office; additional technical skills preferred
- Sharp eye for detail and strong copy editing skills
- Interest in progressive public opinion research/campaign management
