Position Summary:

HRC is hiring a temporary campaign organizer to manage HRC’s on-the-ground organizing efforts in the Dallas, TX area. The right candidate will begin immediately and be laser-focused on engaging and activating HRC members and supporters in the Dallas area. The campaign organizer must live in the Dallas area and will report to HRC leadership in Washington, DC. The campaign organizer will also support the work of the local volunteer leadership in Dallas.

The Temporary Campaign Organizer is a temporary, full-time position ending May 29, 2026.

Position Responsibilities:

Mobilize HRC Members, Supporters and Allies:

  • Mobilize HRC members, supporters and allies to support pro-equality candidates engage elections.
  • Recruit and direct HRC members, supporters and allies to contact voters, turning them out to vote in the primary run-off election.
  • Create and support creative volunteer opportunities and events associated with the primary run off.
  • This work may include making phone calls, leading in person phone/text banks, creative volunteer recruitment, and joining meetings as directed.

Engage Local HRC Volunteer Leadership:

  • Work with HRC staff to ensure that HRC volunteer leaders in Dallas are informed about and maximally engaged in volunteer opportunities.

Manage Recurring Phone Banks:

  • Plan, recruit for, and manage regular recurring volunteer phone banks to recruit volunteers, identify pro-equality voters, and activate voters to the polls.

Engage Coalition Partners:

  • Ensure that like-minded partner organizations’ staff and volunteers are informed about and engaged in volunteer opportunities.

Reporting:

  • Participate in regular HRC calls and meetings, as directed. Prepare regular reports to track contacts and volunteer activities. Provide detailed information in VAN and assure all volunteers do as well.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  • Strong campaign organizing skills, demonstrated through at least three cycles of volunteer or paid organizing experience in a candidate campaign.
  • Demonstrated competency with NGPVAN, Mobilize, Hustle, Open VPB, and HubDialer.
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Google Apps (Gmail, Google Docs and Drive).
  • Commitment to LGBTQ+ equality.
  • Must be willing to work campaign hours, including primary work afternoons, evenings and weekends.

All positions at the Human Rights Campaign may require travel on a regular basis or periodically. Where the need arises for business travel, appropriate compensation as outlined by the Fair Labor Standards Act will apply.
