The Indiana Democratic Party seeks a Voter File Administrator (VFA) to work on our data team to better serve candidates, committees, and local parties as we seek to build a stronger Democratic Party in the Hoosier State. The role is ideal for someone looking to be more involved in politics and party building and who wants to dedicate themselves to learning more about the inner workings of campaigns, strategy, technology, and voter targeting and contact. IDP is making strides on this front and we want to add to our team with this important role. Job Responsibilities:● Managed by Executive Director (ED)● Assist ED with maintenance of Indiana’s Voter File (VAN); Maintenance of My Campaign database.● Assist ED with tracking of voter contact results, early vote and absentee turnout, voter registration, and other data relevant to campaigns and caucuses.● Under the supervision of the ED, provide real time customer support for candidates, candidate committees, county officers, and other VAN users: o Create user VAN accounts and committees o Keep Party staff abreast of technological advances and issues in counties o Provide a supporting role to future Coordinated Programs o Provide prompt customer service to VAN users, including approving exports and solving user problems● Assist ED with maintenance of a system to create and track user access to the VAN● Maintain an inventory of all data assets.● Create and maintain survey questions, activist codes, and other VoteBuilder infrastructure.● Assist ED with creating all shared searches and targets.● Assist ED and IDP staff with data needs, especially pulling lists quickly, correctly, and with knowledge of the big picture. o Provide timely and relevant analysis of data and fielding requests for specialized research projects, in many cases requiring rapid turnaround. o Track voter contact results, early vote and absentee turnout, voter registration, and other data relevant to campaigns and caucuses. o Collect raw political data from County Boards of Elections and other sources and convert it to usable form for analysis; scrubbing and matching acquired lists back to the voter file (VoteBuilder or offline).● Work to elect candidates to office, taking care of all data needs the campaigns may have.● Assist ED with support to campaign managers including Coordinated Campaign leadership to provide technical perspective at the strategic and tactical levels.● Provide customer service to party leaders.● Provide IT support where necessary; manage some IT programs and inventory.● Duties as assigned Successful candidate will have:● Experience conducting webinars● Customer Service experience● At least one cycle of prior campaign experience preferred● Demonstrated data analysis and writing skills, preferably in a political environment● Ability to plan and manage time sensitive projects with competing needs● Knowledge and familiarity with VAN● Strong attention to detail, including accuracy of data entry● Ability to multitask and manage time effectively● Knowledge of Excel including formulas, functions, and pivot tables● Familiarity with GIS and knowledge of SQL including creating queries and manipulating large data sets preferred but not required● Experience standardizing data from multiple sources to produce complex reports To Apply:Please email a resume and cover letter to [email protected].
