The International Brotherhood of Teamsters is looking to fill a Capital Markets Analyst position. Under the general supervision of the senior leadership team of the Capital Strategies Unit, Strategic Initiatives Department, and/or their designee(s), the Capital Markets Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with capital markets constituencies, as well as designing, implementing, and executing investor outreach programs on behalf of the union.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represents the interests of the union and its members with the investor community, including investment and brokerage firms, industry analysts, ratings agencies, and corporate governance professionals.
- Works at the direction of team leads to satisfy department requests and fulfill and support the goals of the Capital Strategies unit.
- Provides corporate, financial, governance, competitive market and industry research and analysis for Teamster divisions and conferences, union leadership, and staff, as directed.
- Conducts corporate, market, and financial research from primary and secondary sources.
- Advises union leadership on actionable investor outreach and campaign programs.
- Represents Teamster constituencies to investment and corporate governance professionals, trade and advocacy associations, and labor allies.
- Prepares and delivers findings and recommendations to internal and external audiences via written reports, public presentations, and financial models, as appropriate.
- Adheres to all department and organizational policies and procedures.
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as related to the position or assigned by the Director of the Strategic Initiatives Department, or designee.

- Flexibility and proven ability to manage a heavy workload without significant supervision.
- Ability to travel and or work extended hours, as needed, is required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, business, mathematics, or a related field required.
- Post-graduate work or corporate experience in the investment community preferred.
- One to five years of experience in a professional environment required.
- Previous employment in a labor union or workers’ rights advocacy organization, in the transportation or product distribution sector, or in a corporate finance, securities brokerage, or asset management position preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in analyzing financial statements, sell-side brokerage analyst reports, and other economic reports required.
- Fluency in understanding and interpreting corporate and brokerage analyst reports, corporate financial statements, SEC filings, and financial models required.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office products required.
- Understanding in labor unions and their structure preferred.
Starting salary ranges from $75,337.00 to $99,969.00. The IBT offers a robust benefits package including a 100%-employer paid health & welfare plan, vacation & sick leave, pension, FICA reimbursement, and 401(k).
