Position Title: Political Affairs Manager Reports to: Political Director Start Date: Immediately Location: Washington, DC (in person) Hours: Full Time, Exempt

J Street’s political program supports a rapidly growing national network of pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy advocates and donors who work to elect federal candidates that share our values and vision. As our political footprint expands, we are deepening our infrastructure to better support candidates, donors, and our internal political operations.

The Political Affairs Manager will play a key role in the department’s work including donor prospecting, political network engagement, national PAC activities, candidate services, and high-priority political initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a self-starting, entrepreneurial thinker with keen political instincts, relationship management skills, and strong attention to detail. Some experience working on political campaigns and/or for advocacy organizations is required for this role.

Specific Responsibilities:

Political Fundraising & Donor Engagement

  • Cultivate and expand JStreetPAC’s donor base, including:Growing political donor prospecting program Cultivating donors as J Street leaders via the J Street National Finance Committee and other political giving levels Manage JStreetPAC’s event calendar, including owning major fundraising events at national gatherings

  • Maintain trackers of political contributions and disbursements through JStreetPAC conduit and managing JStreetPAC direct disbursements

Political Program Support

  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with campaigns and organizations from across the Democratic and progressive ecosystem, including party committees and partner organizations
  • Serve as a go-to resource for internal and external stakeholders regarding JStreetPAC’s work in the 2026 midterms
  • Support key JStreetPAC team functionalities including disbursements, candidate vetting meetings, and other internal priorities
  • Contribute to the organization’s strategic political planning as a member of the public affairs team
  • Support VP of Political and Digital Strategy and National Political Director in other key projects

Candidate Services

  • Oversee JStreetPAC’s growing candidate services program, including:Acting as primary liaison between campaigns and J Street staff from across the country Creating opportunities for candidates to engage with J Street leaders during national travel, including meetings and fundraising events

  • Manage JStreetPAC’s candidate call time program, including identifying prospects, scheduling calls, and staffing candidates during call time

  • Advise candidates and campaign staff in navigating the rapidly evolving Israeli-Palestinian conflict and its ramifications in US politics, in particular providing feedback and guidance while campaigns draft their Israel policy positions and related communications.

Required and Desired Skills and Characteristics:

  • 2-4 years of political, campaign, advocacy, or fundraising experience
  • Strong familiarity with the motivations and dynamics that drive federal campaigns
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with precision and attention to detail
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced political environment
  • Experience using Google Sheets/Excel required; CRM and data tracking tools preferred
  • Formal education requirements are less important than relevant hands-on experience

Salary and Benefits:

The annual salary range for this full-time exempt position is $57,500 to $67,500 depending on qualifications and experience. J Street recognizes a staff bargaining unit affiliated with IFPTE Local 70, a union for non-profit workers. This position is in management and not part of the bargaining unit.
