Candidate Background: Susie Greenberg is a candidate for Georgia State House District 53. She is a parent, community advocate, and licensed attorney prepared for legislative duties on day one. Susie is a steadfast advocate for women, children and families. She is running to make her community safer, restore women’s reproductive rights, expand access to quality healthcare, and secure economic prosperity for hardworking families in her district.

Summary of the Position: The Campaign Manager is an integral part of the team and will be involved in all facets of the campaign. The position requires daily interfacing with the candidate, consultants and volunteers. The campaign manager will serve as the lead to ensure that the candidate stays on track with her daily campaign obligations. Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the race including managing the budget, fundraising, paid communications, earned media, managing the candidate’s schedule, and outreach. The Campaign Manager reports directly to Susie Greenberg. Ideal candidates should be highly organized, efficient, and energized by working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

● Minimum two years of experience in political, non-profit, or issue-oriented organizing work, or equivalent experience in other fields;

● Self-starter with strong attention to detail, organizational and planning skills; thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment;

● Effective people manager who is able to engage and motivate all campaign stakeholders;

● Strong understanding of political environment and political best practices;

● Strategic thinker with a collaborative approach to problem-solving;

● Able to perform in a deadline-driven environment;

● Willingness to work campaign hours, including nights and weekends as needed;

● Cultural competence in working with diverse racial, ethnic, and religious communities;

● Demonstrated talent and good judgment in handling confidential information;

● Excellent oral and written communication skills;

● Experience with campaign technology preferred (e.g. NGP, VAN, ActBlue);

● Driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle;

● Prior experience with campaign management or staff management is a bonus, and experience working in Georgia politics is preferred but not required.

● References Responsibilities of the Campaign Manager include but are not limited to:

● Operations:

○ Manage candidate’s schedule in coordination with candidate and campaign’s consultant team, kitchen cabinet, and volunteer initiatives

○ Oversee overall functioning of the campaign team

○ Oversee staffing arrangements for candidate at all events

○ Manage internal communications, including check-in calls and briefings

● Communications:

○ Serve as campaign spokesperson as needed

○ Create and execute a communications plan in conjunction with consultant team

○ Draft press releases and written content for campaign as needed

○ Respond to press inquiries, build relationships with reporters as appropriate

○ Manage social media strategy, staff and calendars

○ Manage social media profiles as needed

● Finance:

○ Track and oversee campaign fundraising

○ Support in call time and execute the follow-up as needed

○ Manage the campaign budget and monitor cash flow and expenditures

○ Participate in fundraising strategy, strategic introductions, and prospective donor research

● Political:

○ Partner with consultants to create a political outreach plan to engage elected and community stakeholders in the campaign; assist candidate in the execution of the plan and track progress;

○ Manage relationships with the Democratic House Caucus, the coordinated/presidential campaign staff, endorsers, and other political stakeholders.

● Field:

○ Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to execute a direct voter contact plan

○ Design and implement a community meeting/house party strategy

○ Develop and execute a ballot access/signature-gathering strategy
