Job Description

Bantam Communications is in search of a highly skilled and motivated Community Organizer to join our vibrant team. The Organizer will prioritize grassroots and mid-level stakeholder organizing to build a robust and active base of supporters for our client’s utility-scale wind, solar, and storage projects nationwide. The ideal candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, an understanding of local community dynamics, and experience conducting direct outreach.

**Job Requirements**
- **Community Engagement:** Use context from the project team and internal research to develop and execute grassroots outreach plans. Build and maintain positive relationships with supporters, landowners, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders in project areas through meetings, calls, and other contacts. Make recommendations on strategy as necessary.
- **Volunteer Organizing:** In conjunction with Campaign Strategists and the Director of Community Affairs, identify, recruit, and mobilize supporters to contact local elected officials or agencies, attend public meetings, and communicate project benefits with community members in support of projects around the country.
- **Political and Community Dynamic Analysis:** Demonstrate a deep understanding of community and political power dynamics, employing this knowledge to conduct outreach and inform strategic-decision making. Effectively analyze and report on results from outreach activities, with a special emphasis on identifying new and growing trends on the ground.
- **Government Relations: **Monitor county and municipal government proceedings related to renewable energy generally and the project specifically. Professionally represent the project and developer at business, local government, and community functions.
- **Events Management: **Help plan, build, and manage local events. If necessary, travel to project locations to staff events and conduct outreach.
- **Data Organization and Information Management:** Ensure all data gathered from outreach and engagement activities are entered and maintained in various databases and systems. Triage questions, comments, and concerns gathered during outreach and ensure answers are provided.
- **Communication Excellence: **Possess excellent communication skills to effectively convey campaign messages and objectives to clients, internal teams, and communities involved.
