Job Description
The Student Turnout Projects (STP) are a collection of state-based organizations working to get out the vote on college campuses in four key states in 2024. Leveraging creative and scrappy digital and in-person tactics, our team based at Strategic Victory Fund (SVF) supports in-state leaders as they build and run programming.
This role will begin in June 2024 and runs through January 2025.
**What will you do?**
As SVF invests in Student Turnout Projects and in-state communications hubs, your job will be to develop a vision for how investments into youth-focused communications and digital programs ought to be leveraged and support the build-out of that vision. As part of this, you will do the following in partnership with state-based leaders:
- Develop creative vision for how we talk to student voters about this election, including message guidance for key issue areas
- Regularly coach students, organizers, and creatives to workshop and develop content
- Develop and lead content trainings and workshops for students and organizers in partnership with state-based teams
- Serve as creative advisor to in-state teams and communication hubs
- Work with Special Projects Director to design trainings for other programmatic priorities as needed
**Who are you?**
We recognize that it is highly unlikely that even well-qualified candidates will meet 100% of the qualifications for a role. If much of this job description describes you, please apply for this role.
The ideal candidate:
- Will have at least two cycles of experience working on political or issue-advocacy campaigns. Ideally you have done some of the following:
- Built and managed a digital organizing program
- Worked closely with content creators and/or coached volunteers on how to make content
- Provided creative feedback to both creative professionals and to amateurs/students
- Leveraged qualitative and quantitative research to improve messaging and programming
- Developed and maintained relationships with partner organizations. Having existing relationships with key players in the space is a plus.
- Enjoys working with students and mentoring the next generation
- Understands campus organizing and organizing theory, and how digital programming can fit in
- Is comfortable working in a fast-paced, start-up environment. You’re flexible to a changing environment and excited to “build the plane while flying it.”
- Is able to work weekends and irregular hours as required.
**Job Details:** Salary is between $70,000 and $90,000, commensurate with experience. This role begins in May 2024 and runs through January 2025. The role is located in Washington D.C. but exceptional candidates may be able to work remotely. This role may involve significant travel to focus states.
**To Apply**: Please submit [this](https://airtable.com/appb6qGoRSlJxsLjI/pagfNCHxq1ZKC90I4/form) short application.
