### About the Program:
Ahead of the 2024 elections, Movement Labs is launching a political tactic incubator with unprecedented ambition. Our goal is to explore, analyze, and scale innovative strategies that persuade, mobilize, and register voters to counteract Trump's influence. We are committed to investing millions in successful initiatives, focusing on new organizing programs and turnout tactics. These efforts will target low-turnout, high-opportunity voters in marginalized communities, persuade Republican voters toward President Biden, and enhance voter registration efforts. The objective is to garner 50,000 votes for Biden ahead of the November Election.
### About the Role:
Movement labs is hiring for the role of Organizing Director for the 2024 cycle. This role is a mission critical position for our Political Innovation Incubator - it leads execution for any political innovation idea that involves getting humans to contact other humans, both paid and volunteer.
This role will be responsible for moving dozens of ideas through the process of vetting, scoping and project planning and piloting them to assess if they have the potential to net over 1000 votes across the seven battleground states. If pilots are successful, work includes scaling those ideas up ahead of the 2024 election. This role will report to and work closely with the VP of Political Innovation.
This role will oversee several pilot projects. Two examples: Online Community Organizing - recruiting and training active online forum users in hundreds of forums to engage in persuasive conversation and meme-making to move undecided voters to vote for Biden. Volunteer-Voter Buddies - a VPB where blue state volunteers call targets in battleground states with whom they share characteristics, such as the same first and last name, occupation or demographics, and persuade them to register to vote.
This role will be responsible for quickly testing the effectiveness and feasibility of such programs and then scaling up those that prove most effective.
Responsibilities:
**Volunteer & Staff Management**
- Hire and manage a team of organizing staff to support projects as needed
- Recruit & manage volunteers to assist in pilot projects
- Develop and lead training sessions for support staff and volunteers
- Perform other duties as assigned
**Organizing Program Management**
- Own development and implementation of organizing pilot programs - idea vetting, scoping pilot plans and project planning.
- Closely track key program deadlines, experiment materials and deliverables of projects in the field.
- Create weekly reports detailing progress and hurdles of projects in the field.
- Work with the Director of the Incubator on projects that involve hiring and managing vendors or independent contractors.
Requirements:
**Our Ideal Candidate**
- At least two cycles of organizing experience organizing at a progressive organization or campaign, ideally having served at a Regional Organizing Director level or higher
- Expansive experience organizing across different communities and geographies in an electoral and issue advocacy context.
- Experience managing volunteer relationships and cultivating volunteer leaders, especially virtually
- Experience managing organizers to successfully coach volunteers to take action
- Eagerness and excitement to empower, coordinate, collaborate and troubleshoot with direct reports, lateral staff, and manage upwards.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build strong working relationships quickly
- Tech-savvy and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Is flexible. They are able to adapt to unexpected changes and last-minute adjustments.
- Strong proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, our core tech tools: Airtable, Asana, Slack, Google Workspace.
- Well organized, detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple competing priorities in a remote work setting.
- Passionate about Movement Labs which aims to fight fascism and defeat Donald Trump by electing President Biden.
