Job Description

Postcards to Swing States recruits volunteers nationwide to write handwritten postcards to rally Democrats to vote. We work with volunteers and staff in our Illinois office/warehouse to pack and ship postcard orders to tens of thousands of volunteers. Since 2020, we have organized over 43 million postcards to voters. Reporting to the Postcard Program Manager, full-time Postcard Program Organizers are generalists who oversee in-office volunteers, process and pack postcard orders, and correspond with volunteers around the country via email.

**This is a full-time, fully in-person position based in Burr Ridge, IL.** Compensation offered will be commensurate with relevant experience. This position is eligible for benefits, including employer-sponsored health, dental, and vision insurance, FSA, student loan repayment program, transportation stipend, and paid time off. Relocation expenses will NOT be provided.

**Responsibilities**:
- Train and supervise volunteers to pack and ship postcard orders
- Monitor volunteer accuracy and provide coaching
- Set up workstations, pack postcards, and stage completed packages
- Recruit in-office volunteers and confirm volunteer shifts
- Respond to volunteer emails using templated responses and guidelines
- Use the order tracker, volunteer database, and shipping software to make order changes and record updates as prompted by volunteer inquiries
- Review volunteer notes, filter and assign orders using Google Sheets
- Call or text postcard volunteers when appropriate
- Escalate volunteer questions or requests that need templates or weren’t already covered in training

**Required Qualifications (You will be a good fit if):**
- Good verbal and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- A passion for volunteers and progressive grassroots activism
- Familiarity with spreadsheet filters and sorting functions
- Able to lift and move boxes up to 40 lbs., push carts, and similar material handling tasks
