Depending on experience, starting salary will range from $50,000-$62,000, with a healthcare stipend, paid time off, and retirement benefits. The ideal candidate will reside in Austin or Central Texas with the ability to travel periodically. This position will include a combination of working from home and attending in-person events and meetings. / Yearly

Job Description
This is a new position that will work closely with the Executive Director and a small team to manage our advocacy and educational efforts.
**Primary responsibilities include:**
- Working with partner organizations to develop and pilot a program for collaborating with Texas university groups to engage college students in advocating for gun violence prevention;
- Building relationships with key partners and stakeholders around the state, including gun owners, medical professionals, and survivors of gun violence;
- Developing materials, presenting information and managing initiatives to raise awareness of policy solutions to prevent gun tragedies, including promoting powerful storytelling campaigns;
- Tracking engagement and metrics of programs and initiatives;
- Working with the team to represent Texas Gun Sense at events and in online communications;
- Potentially overseeing the onboarding of additional staff, as the budget allows.
**What we’re looking for:**
- You have 3-5 years of experience in program management, community engagement, and/or advocacy;
- You have strong written and communication skills and experience with public speaking;
- You are someone who takes initiative, works independently, and is collaborative;
- You can represent the organization publicly and build relationships with a range of partners and stakeholders;
- You have strong judgment, are organized, and can be flexible in a changing environment;
- You act with sensitivity toward victims and survivors of gun violence and can work with individuals with differing viewpoints and lived experiences;
- You have a firm commitment to preventing gun violence in all its forms.
