Job Description
Overview:
Jim Wertz is a teacher, union leader, and former Chair of the Erie County Democratic Party who is running to represent the people of Erie County as a State Senator in SD-49. Senate District 49 is a top tier flip because it will determine which party has control of the Pennsylvania State Senate.
About the Position:
We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join Team Wertz as a Field Organizer. Field Organizers are responsible for working with the Field Director to implement a goal-oriented field program that is focused on building a strong volunteer team that will persuade voters to turn out and vote for Jim Wertz in the General Election. This includes recruiting and training volunteers on different direct voter contact methods, as well as engaging in direct voter contact themselves.
Responsibilities:
● Recruiting volunteers for direct voter contact and other campaign events
● Train volunteers on canvassing, phone banking, and text banking
● Engage in direct voter contact: canvassing, phone banking, and text banking
● Meet weekly and monthly field goals
● Collaborate with the rest of the campaign team to carry out field and campaign
goals
● Build a welcoming environment for volunteers and supporters so everyone is a
valued and supported member of the campaign
Qualifications:
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Strong time management and organizational abilities
● Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment
● Ability to work long and occasionally irregular hours
● Prior campaign experience is not required but is preferred
