Job Description

The Michigan Democratic Party is seeking a Youth Vote Organizer for the 2024 Coordinated Campaign. We are looking for passionate, hardworking individuals who are committed to building the innovative operation and first of its kind program needed to expand democracy and the youth vote by organizing and empowering thousands of young voters to take control of their futures, re-elect President Biden and win elections up and down the ballot for Democrats in November 2024.

Youth Vote Organizers will work regionally across Michigan to build organizations that engage young voters and prepare systems for key 2024 races. This position is unionized, reports to the Youth Vote Regional Organizing Director, and will be based regionally across the state and will require in-person work.

**Responsibilities**
- Recruit, train, and manage teams of highschool and postgraduate youth volunteers who will mobilize their peers
- Build relationships with a coalition of highschool administrators, student leaders, and student organizations across a turf or region
- Conduct list-building through relational organizing and other tactics in order to build the youth coalition and hit program goals
- Hold regular youth coalition events focused towards highschool or postgraduate youth voters and volunteers
- Other responsibilities as assigned

**Required Qualifications**
- Have a passion for inspiring and empowering young people to get involved in the political process
- Be a self-starter, well-organized, and have strong time management skills
- Be eager to talk to as many students as possible, comfortable talking to a lot of strangers/potential volunteers, and comfortable asking for things
- Be excited to think outside the box and get creative to find the most exciting and effective tactics to engage young voters
- Have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work long, irregular hours; including weekends
- Must have access to a vehicle and the ability to relocate if necessary
- Can think fast on your feet and eats ambiguity for breakfast
