Job Description
Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
Location: Flexible, Remote, Kansas
Reports to: Managing Director
Tailwind Partners is committed to growing Kansas’s bench of common sense elected officials, and building the pipeline of talented, passionate political operatives who will power these campaigns and guide candidates across their careers in public service.
**The Communications Assistant will:**
- Assist to execute paid and earned media plans, and create campaign materials – including draft copy and graphics – for social media, email, and other campaign communications.
- Place digital ads on platforms such as Meta, Google AdSense, YouTube, and Reddit.
- Draft content for email programs to bolster client engagement and fundraising
- Coordinate with Finance staff to code emails, create corresponding signup and donation pages, and schedule emails using NGP/VAN, EveryAction, and ActBlue.
- Collaborate to grow client email and SMS fundraising lists and nurture new subscribers into donors.
- Report engagement metrics and assist in watching for any potential deliverability issues.
- Be a nimble and curious teammate who is interested in collaborating across departments to contribute to additional projects as appropriate.
**Competitive candidates will have:**
- Experience in placing digital ads (Meta, Google AdSense, Youtube, Reddit.)
- Interest in politics and experience working on political campaigns.
- Excellent wordsmithing and copywriting skills, with the ability to craft compelling and engaging content across various platforms.
- Strong organizational skills, communication skills, attention to detail, and responsiveness.
**Benefits:**

- 401(k), 100% of contributions on the first 3% deferred, then 50% of contributions from 3% to 5%.
- Vacation: base rate of 3 weeks (120 hours) annually. An additional week (40 hours) is added on 2nd and 3rd anniversaries for a max of 5 weeks (200 hours).
- Mileage reimbursement for work-related travel.
- Results-only workplace environment.
- Up to $100/month work from home stipend.
