Job Description
**Position Summary:**
Progressive Turnout Project seeks a mission-driven, entrepreneurial individual looking to serve as the 2024 Campaign Director for our Shape Up the Vote campaign. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of non-partisan campaign to turn out the vote by activating barbershops and salons as voter engagement hubs in their communities. In 2024, the programs are focused on multiple battleground states with the Campaign Director responsible for creating and coordinating outreach campaigns to new and alumni barbers and stylists, tracking shipping logistics, updating CRM and providing stakeholder updates. The role is also responsible for recruiting and managing fellows and volunteers, including the initial orientation/training, and their ongoing workflow.
This is a fully remote role, and applicants may be located in any time zone. This position is eligible for benefits, including employer-sponsored health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), student loan repayment assistance, paid time off, and paid holidays.

**Responsibilities:**
Campaign Management (50%)
- Organize outreach campaigns and delegate contact lists to 2-3 remote organizers via SUTV’s phone/sms outreach tools
- Compile shipping requests and submit to SUTV’s mailing provider via csv files.
- Keep up-to-date records using our CRM system on barber/stylist relationships.
- Track and maintain up-to-date content on voter registration and turnout laws in key states.
- Communicate learnings from the field with the wider SUTV team to inform tactical pivots.
Participant outreach (30%)
- Utilize Shape Up The Vote’s CRM and outreach tools to recruit barber/stylist participants via phone calls and SMS.
- Support barber/stylist participants by fielding requests and offering updates/reminders on key election dates via phone calls, emails and SMS.
Managing SUTV’s campaign fellows + volunteer programs (20%)
- Recruit and manage campaign fellows to assist with participant outreach and social media efforts.
- Lead volunteer outreach efforts, including developing volunteer training materials and coordinating phone-bank efforts.
- Assisting in volunteer recruiting in conjunction with SUTV leadership.
- The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.
**Qualifications (You will be a good fit if):**
- You have at least two years/cycles of experience organizing on a political campaign
- You are highly resourceful and self-directed, and can effectively manage multiple competing priorities in a given day, week or month
- You care deeply about issues of voter suppression and voter turnout and are dedicated to making an impact in the 2024 general elections
- You’re proficient in G Suite Products (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc.)
**Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):**
- At least 2 years/cycles of experience managing campaign volunteers or staff
