JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled Content Writer to revamp our Help Center documentation and create comprehensive video tutorials. The goal is to make content more concise, user-friendly, and easy to understand. The ideal candidate will have experience with PDI, experience in technical writing, creating instructional videos, and simplifying complex information effectively.

The ideal candidate will bring a profound understanding of campaign dynamics and the significance of PDI tools, backed by hands-on experience in both using PDI and working directly on campaigns on the ground. This includes the ability to articulate the strategic importance and practical applications of the WHY behind the field strategies, ensuring that content resonates deeply with campaign staff and volunteers.

This position is a project-based contract opportunity, ideal for a content writer who thrives on creating impactful user friendly documentation and instructional materials. As a contractor, you will have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while meeting project deadlines and deliverables. Your primary focus will be to revamp our Help Center content (both the content writing and the instructional videos for YouTube), making it more accessible and engaging for our users, with ongoing responsibilities for updates and improvements based on user feedback.

This is a remote position reporting to Nicoll Mischel, Customer Success.

Responsibilities:

  • Rewrite and streamline existing help documents and articles.

  • Ensure all content is clear, concise, and easy to navigate.

  • Maintain a consistent tone and style across all documentation and instructional materials.

  • Collaborate with product and support teams to ensure accuracy.

  • Utilize user feedback to enhance the effectiveness of help content.

  • Optimize content for searchability within the Help Center.

  • Create instructional videos to guide users through various features and functionalities.

  • Ensure video content is engaging, clear, and aligns with existing instructional style (see YouTube example).

  • Regularly update and improve existing help documents and videos based on user feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in content creation, particularly in a customer support context.

  • Strong writing and editing skills with a focus on clarity and simplicity.

  • Experience in creating instructional videos.

  • Familiarity with help desk software, particularly Zendesk, is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Proven experience as a Content Writer, preferably in a technical or software-related field.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.

  • Ability to convey complex information in a simple, straightforward manner.
