JOB DESCRIPTION

A Democratic congressional campaign in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District based in Cobb County is currently hiring an Organizing Director. The Organizing Director is responsible for day-to-day recruitment, instruction, and management of volunteers and interns. Successful applicants will possess at least 1 year of field organizing experience on a candidate or issue advocacy campaign. Canvassing experience is preferred.

Ideal candidates should be highly organized, efficient, and capable of showing leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • The Organizing Director will be operating within the entire GA14 Congressional District, not just Cobb County.

  • Implement all aspects of the volunteer and intern voter contact program in assigned areas.

  • Train, recruit, and manage volunteers and interns.

  • Attend local events to recruit volunteers and interns, build new community relationships, and strengthen existing relationships.

  • Submit regular reports of voter contact and volunteer / intern recruitment numbers.

  • Meet daily and weekly voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals.

  • Attend public events with the candidate.

  • Coordinate and perform the delivery of lawn signs.

Job Qualifications:

  • Organizing or management experience in a campaign environment, or a history of issue advocacy and activism.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially the ability to build relationships, listen, collaborate, and lead with respect and professionalism.

  • A strong ability to demonstrate cultural competence and the skills needed to work meaningfully with those who are culturally different from oneself; a commitment to fostering a positive working environment grounded in the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Highly organized and independent work style; a strong ability to multitask and communicate.

  • Willingness to work nontraditional hours

  • Must have a car.
