Janelle Bynum for Congress campaign is seeking a Political & Press Coordinator to execute communication and in-district political strategies in a key battleground congressional district to retake the House majority. The coordinator will work closely with the campaign team and our local partners to execute plans on behalf of the campaign. This position is based in-person in Clackamas, OR.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

● Producing and releasing written press materials including press releases, blast emails, talking points, fact sheets, guest columns, and other materials

● Manages scheduling and staffing processes for the campaign

● Oversee the drafting and creating social media for the campaign and developing content calendars for each week on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

● Maintaining relationships with and engaging targeted grassroots community leaders throughout the district

● Coordinating political and press events, including logistics, venue selection, invitations, and staffing for round tables and community socials in collaboration with campaign staff and consultants/partners

● Distribute campaign materials and toolkits to local partner organizations and community leaders, serving as a direct line to the campaign

● Other tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications:

● Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively and clearly communicate with different stakeholders

● Strong communication skills and ability to communicate priorities, needs, and expectations

● Social media fluency

● Excellent writing ability and research comprehension

● Strong work ethic

● Ability to succeed in fast-paced environments, meet deadlines, and solve problems

● Proactively fosters an inclusive atmosphere and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

● Willingness to work long, irregular hours in the leadup to the election

Preferred Background & Experience:

● Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience

● Campaign or official side is preferred, but not required

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience. Starting salary at $4,000/month with health care benefits.
